Singapore, 5 June 2020 — Taipei Fubon Bank received Best Branch Innovation at The Asian Banker International Excellence in Retail Financial Awards 2020.

Taipei Fubon Bank’s Family Branch represents Taiwan’s first “Digital Family Bank” by incorporating digital and gaming technology to serve both parents and children

Consistent with its family banking value proposition, the bank rolled out an e-Family Branch to create a financial literacy centre for parents and their children. The branch transformation is a cross-industry collaboration among Taipei Fubon Bank, the Hon Hai Technology Group and Asia Pacific Telecom. The bank seamlessly integrated technology in upgrading its branch with elements such as facial recognition apps, AI-driven health check devices and motionsensing financial education games to promote financial literacy and digital usage. It also built Taiwan’s biggest indoor smart forest ecosystem, with a breathing, organic space that reduces CO2 emissions.

The innovation project strengthened client engagement and propelled the bank’s business

Throughout 2019, Taipei Fubon Bank held 11 events in its e-Family Branch with financial themes for parents and children. More than generating a high participation rate for these programmes, the bank saw an increase in the number of children’s accounts year on year. Both digital banking usage and digital transactions also spiked by a double-digit rate. Compared to the bank’s other branches, the e-Family Branch originated higher wealth management income and AUM growth for the year.

Taipei Fubon Bank is working with the government to cushion the economic and human impact of COVID-19

The city government of Taipei is offering preferential rates for loans through Taipei Fubon Bank. During this difficult period, the bank is also providing hope and gratitude towards the community, especially to the frontliners, by transforming the façade of its Dongmen Artistic Branch with a light show that communicates the message “Love is a light that never dims” in Morse Code.
