US Treasury takes action against SUEX for facilitating ransomware

The US imposed sanctions against the Czech-based cryptocurrency exchange SUEX to cut off revenue for ransomware groups. The US Department of the Treasury claimed that SUEX facilitated transactions involving illicit proceeds for at least eight ransomware variants. Analysis of known SUEX transactions shows that over 40% of SUEX’s known transaction history is associated with illicit actors. It also updated advisory on potential sanctions risk for facilitating ransomware payments.
