Standard Chartered Bank appoints Srinivas Siripurapu as Regional Head, Private Banking, ASEAN & South Asia and Global Head of Non-Resident Indian

Standard Chartered today announced the appointment of Srinivas (“Srini”) Siripurapu as Regional Head, Private Banking, ASEAN & South Asia (ASA) and Global Head, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), effective 5 July 2016. Based in Singapore, Srini will report to Didier von Daeniken, Global Head, Private Banking & Wealth Management.

In this role, Srini is responsible for leading the Private Banking business and teams in the ASA region, as well as further establishing and executing on a global NRI strategy. He will work in close partnership with the Wealth Management segment as well as the country management teams to further grow the Private Banking franchise.

An experienced wealth practitioner, Srini brings to the Bank more than 30 years of financial services expertise across investment and private banking. He was most recently Head of Southeast Asia, Global South Asian Community and Africa Offshore at Barclays, and prior to that, also held leadership positions at UBS in Singapore and ABN Amro in India.

Didier von Daeniken said: “As we continue building on our business momentum to be the multi-generational Private Bank for entrepreneurs, Srini will be an invaluable addition to the team to realise the significant opportunities within the global NRI community, as well as further solidify our positioning in the key wealth hub of Singapore.”

Srini takes over the regional leadership for ASA from Peter Kok, whose role is now combined within Srini’s expanded remit. As a result of this change, Peter will be leaving the Bank. “We thank Peter for his leadership and valued contribution to the Private Banking business over the last two years,” added Didier von Daeniken.
