BMO Harris Bank announced the appointment of Sang Kim as Regional President, Retail Banking, Wisconsin. Chris Michalski, the previous Regional President, has been appointed Head of U.S. Mortgage Sales, BMO Harris Bank.
In his new appointment, Kim will be responsible for overseeing a network of approximately 200 BMO Harris locations, and delivering the breadth of BMO Harris' retail banking, small business banking and premier services across Wisconsin. Based in Milwaukee, he will report directly to Emilio Cooper, Head, Sales and Distribution, U.S. Retail Banking for BMO Harris Bank.
"Sang's strong leadership skills, coupled with his diverse financial acumen, will help us drive an exceptional experience for our customers throughout Wisconsin," said Cooper. "I am excited to have him lead a talented team of professionals."
Kim is very active in the community, serving on a number of local boards, including the United Way - Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, Discovery World in Milwaukee, Junior Achievement – Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Bankers Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with concentrations in finance and multinational management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Most recently, Kim served as Regional President for the Wisconsin-Michigan region at another financial institution.
Michalski, in his new role, will have accountability for driving mortgage growth throughout the bank's branch footprint. He will lead a team of over 400 mortgage professionals across the U.S.
Michalski served as Regional President for the Southeast Wisconsin Region since 2015 playing a key role in growing the brand and the business while deepening relationships with customers. He joined BMO in 2010 as Market Manager, leading his team to numerous successes and strong business growth. He will report to Emilio Cooper and will be based out of Chicago.
Cooper added, "This is a great role for Chris who has aquired a tremendous amount of knowledge across our business. He is passionate about our customers' financial desires, and will be a valuable mentor and leader to his fellow mortgage professionals."
