Hanoi, Vietnam, 27 March 2025 – Vietcombank, VietinBank, Cake, BIDV and TPBank were recognised as the best banks for wealth management, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), private banking, digital and social banking in Vietnam at The TAB Global Excellence in Retail Finance and Technology Innovation Vietnam Awards, held at Pan Pacific Hanoi. 

Best Wealth Management Bank in Vietnam

Vietcombank introduced its Priority Banking Service in 2019 to provide tailored financial services for high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). The service offers personalised advisory, bespoke investment solutions and a wide range of digital offerings, all supported by the bank’s extensive nationwide branch network for both in-person and digital access.

By improving its services, Vietcombank has grown its HNWI client base by 20% and significantly increased assets under management (AUM), strengthening its position as a leader in wealth management.

Vietcombank also received the award for Best Mobile Banking Service in Vietnam for its VCB New Digibank app. 

Best SME Bank in Vietnam

VietinBank transformed SME banking with its e-FAST platform, making loan applications and cash flow management simpler and more efficient. The platform reduces administrative burden and helps SMEs streamline their operations to support growth.

VietinBank is further enhancing its services by adding payment and trade finance systems to help clients expand operations globally. Through partnerships with national initiatives, the bank has made it easier for SMEs to join, therefore expanding its portfolio to include startups and microenterprises. VietinBank also won Best API and Open Banking Initiative in Vietnam for its iConnect DX that enables secure data sharing and application programming interface (API) integration with partners. The platform supports real-time payment and automated document collection, enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.  

Best Digital Bank in Vietnam

Cake quickly became a leader in Vietnam's digital banking landscape due to the rapid growth of its customer base, deposits, loans, and revenue. The bank's broad range of services is supported by strategic partnerships that enhance its product offerings and expand its market reach.

Cake uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to offer tailored financial products, driving high customer engagement and retention. An 80% retention rate was seen among transactional users, while financial product users registered a higher retention rate of 95%.  It also pioneered Visa Cloud Connect in Vietnam, improving payment systems for faster and safer transactions. Its advanced security features ensure that customer transactions are highly protected.

Best Private Bank in Vietnam

The private banking division of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) saw strong growth in 2024, with assets under management (AUM) rising 37% to VND 300 trillion ($11.7 billion), while its HNWI client base grew by 36%, increasing its market share in this segment to 8%. This success is fuelled by its AI-powered digital wealth advisory platform, which offers personalised investment strategies and risk-based advisory services for HNWIs.

It’s private banking services are strengthened by exclusive partnerships with international institutions, allowing it to offer a wide array of investment solutions and secure financial products. This continued innovation and expansion in the private banking sector position BIDV as a leader in Vietnam’s high-net-worth market.

BIDV was also awarded Best Home Loan Financing in Vietnam for its BIDV Home 3.0 that automates and streamlines the mortgage process. 

Best Social Banking Initiative in Asia Pacific

TPBank has redefined social banking by integrating conversational banking features into popular messaging apps. Its ChatPay service makes banking more intuitive, seamless and inclusive. With ChatPay, users can open accounts, perform transactions, apply for credit and track payments— all within a familiar messaging interface.
