O-Bank was recognised as the Best Digital Bank in Taiwan at The Asian Banker Taiwan Awards 2018

For delivering a unique seamless user experience via its digital only channel and providing customers an integrated range of digital financial services from basic deposits accounts to wealth management, O-Bank 王道銀行 was recognised as the Best Digital Bank in Taiwan at The Asian Banker Taiwan Awards Briefing and Luncheon 2018.

Leveraging off its global network and connectivity, HSBC Taiwan was also recognised as the Best Wealth Management Bank (Affluent Segment) in Taiwan during the event.

Guest speaker at the briefing, Richard Hartung, CEO of Transcarta, spoke of how the advent of fintechs in Taiwan has led to the establishment of a vibrant and innovative financial services landscape, particularly in the payments and robotic automation space.

The Financial Supervisory Commission has been proactive in introducing new policies regarding the introduction and operations of web-only or digital only banks in the country.

On October 12, The Asian Banker held its Annual Taiwan Awards Briefing & Luncheon 2018 at Westin Taipei, Taiwan. Two sets of awards were presented during the day, the Financial Technology Innovation Awards and the Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards. A total of 7 awards were given during the awards ceremony. The Asian Banker Taiwan Awards programme provides the undisputed benchmark of the performance of the best retail banks in an increasingly fierce marketplace.
