National ITMX (National Interbank Transaction Management and Exchange), established by the Thai Bankers’ Association under direction of Payment System Committee (PSC) governed by Bank of Thailand (BOT), is a developer and service provider of the electronic payment infrastructure of Thailand. ITMX system is an open platform that is both secure and efficient, offering flexibility to respond to the rapidly changing demands of businesses. The system supports all types of electronic payments and fund transfers, enabling transactions from various channels such as ATM, EDC (Electronic Data Capture), OTC (Over-The-Counter), Internet, and mobile devices.
Site visit to National ITMX and briefing by Niwat Kanwaset, Assistant Managing Director IT Infrastructure on NITMX’s journey of developing the PromptPay system, a new retail payment infrastructure under the National e-Payment Master Plan to push forward a cashless society.
Siam Piwat, a prominent Thai real estate and retail developer, is renowned for its world-class projects such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery, in addition to a joint venture partner of IconSiam and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok. Additionally, Siam Piwat works in collaboration with global partners and digital innovators to transform the digital retail experience for consumers. With the introduction of their new digital platform “Parallel World”, Siam Piwat aims to establish a precedented sustainable ecosystem, preparing them for future fintech developments and evolution towards metaverse.

National Innovation Agency (NIA) is supporting and developing Thailand’s innovation system to promote economic, restructuring and competitive enhancement. It functions as the main engine driving national innovation by co-creation, networking, fostering and partnering different organisations from various fields such as academic, technology, industry, finance and investment. NIA’s focus is utilising knowledge management particularly to foster “innovation on cluster platform” which uses innovation as the principal tool in improving quality of life and driving towards an increasingly competitive economy.
Site visit to the NIA office and briefing by Pariwat Wongsamran, Director of Entrepreneur and Enterprise and Director of Startup Thailand on how they changed their role from a system integrator to a focal facilitator.
Bitkub Group is the largest blockchain technology and digital asset company in Thailand. Established in February 2018, Bitkub is a next-generation exchange platform that facilitates trading of digital assets. With a net profit of $100 million and a price-to-earnings ratio of 13 in 2021, Bitkub is legally registered with an authorised capital of $8.3 million, and enables customers to buy, sell and store digital assets. In line with its expansion plans, Bitkub Capital Group Holdings is currently in talks with potential local partners in Southeast Asia for expanding its presence beyond Thailand next year.

Ngern Tid Lor (TIDLOR) is a data-driven, technology-led finance company with omnichannel sales distribution and scalable business platforms. Currently, it operates two main businesses: lending and insurance brokerage. TIDLOR is the leading provider of vehicle title loans in Thailand. Additionally, it is also the second-largest retail-focused insurance broker, based on revenue generated from insurance premium sales. TIDLOR Insurance Broker has recorded a consistent growth rate exceeding 30% per annum, in contrast to the 5% average growth rate of the non-life insurance sector.
We will be visiting Ngern Tid Lor to meet with Bernard Tso, Executive Vice President & Head of Marketing, Business Development and Information Technology, to discuss their journey towards building a culture-driven digitally transformed organisation.

Banking in the age of disruption: Navigating technological, economic and regulatory challenges by Sir Howard Davies, Chairman, NatWest Group and Chairman, International Advisory Council, China Securities Regulatory Commission. As the first Chairman of the UK's Financial Services Authority, he was responsible for merging nine independent agencies to create a single regulatory body. He also served as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England. In his upcoming discussion, he will share his views on the future of finance in an increasingly digital world, the turbulence caused by geopolitical conflicts and deglobalization, as well as the threats posed by climate change to global economic growth and the world order.
