Finance for a greener future: Facilitating the transition to a low-carbon world

In a world facing climate change, achieving Net Zero is essential, and banks play a crucial role. The Paris Agreement aims to align finance with a low-emission, climate-resilient future. To meet its goals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, significant capital investment is required. According to McKinsey, commercial banks could provide USD 2.0-2.6 trillion annually until 2050, part of the USD 275 trillion needed for the Net Zero transition.

Banks are responding to align with the expectations from regulators, shareholders, customers, and employees, building sustainability teams and expertise. However, challenges remain, such as unreliable data, inconsistent standards, and need to keep upto speed with evolving regulations. Understanding sustainable finance is vital for banks to support clients on their journey to Net Zero, foster a sustainable economy, and ensure a positive societal and environmental impact

This masterclass, led by industry expert, will tackle these challenges. It will explore the fundamentals of sustainable finance, discuss opportunities and risks, highlight innovative financial products, and evaluate how sustainable finance is evolving. Participants will gain insights on how to contribute to society and the environment through sustainable finance solutions within their institutions.
