Marguerite Bérard-Andrieu joins the Group and will succeed Marie-Claire Capobianco from 2019
Marguerite Bérard-Andrieu, until recently Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance, Strategy and Legal Affairs at the BPCE Group, is to join BNP Paribas on 15 January. After a year of integration into the Group, she will take over from Marie-Claire Capobianco as Head of French Retail Banking on 1 January 2019 and will join the BNP Paribas Executive Committee on that date.
From 1 January 2019, Marie-Claire Capobianco, who heads this key business for the Group, will take on new responsibilities as a member of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee.
“Marie-Claire Capobianco, who has led our French Retail Banking division since 2011, has successfully embarked the business on a process of profound transformation that has enabled it to turn in a strong commercial performance and be well-prepared for the future, in line with the Group’s 2020 Business Development Plan,” stated Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas. “We’re delighted to welcome Marguerite Bérard-Andrieu to BNP Paribas. She will make a great contribution to the Group’s transformation and growth in the coming years.”
“I have every confidence in the ability of Marguerite Bérard-Andrieu to take over the leadership role in 2019 and continue French Retail Banking’s transformation process, while remaining close to our customers,” added Thierry Laborde, BNP Paribas Group Deputy COO and Head of Domestic Markets.
“I’m delighted to have had the opportunity since 2011 to lead, at the service of our customers, the remarkable community of people who make up French Retail Banking and to begin the transformation process at a pivotal moment in its history. In 2018 we will accelerate our digital transformation while striving for even closer relations with our customers. I know that from 2019, with Marguerite Bérard-Andrieu in charge, the long-term future of our French retail-banking business will be assured,” added Marie-Claire Capobianco, BNP Paribas Executive Committee member and Head of French Retail Banking.
