AEON Bank launches Malaysia’s Islamic digital bank
AEON Bank held its public launch ceremony at AEON Hall, AEON Mall Shah Alam on 26 May 2024.
The event was graced by Johan Mahmood Merican, secretary general of treasury, Ministry of Finance; Raja Teh Maimunah, CEO of AEON Bank (M) Berhad; Iskandar Sarudin, independent non-executive chairman and president of Malaysian AEON Foundation, AEON Co. (M) Berhad; Naoya Okada, managing director of AEON Co. (M) Berhad; Shunsuke Shirakawa, chairman of AEON Financial Service, Japan; Mitsugu Tamai, director and managing executive officer of AEON Financial Service, Japan; Daisuke Maeda, managing director of AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad; Tomokatsu Yoshitoshi, chairman and independent non-executive director of AEON Bank (M) Berhad, along with members of the board of directors, dignitaries from financial and banking institutions, regulatory bodies, core business partners, and key stakeholders.
As part of the public launch campaign, AEON Bank is offering customers who activate their accounts a sign-up bonus of 3,000 AEON points and triple AEON points for transactions using the AEON Bank x Visa Debit Card-i. Additionally, customers will benefit from a profit rate of 3.88% per annum.
From 23 May 2024 until 2 June 2024, AEON Bank aims to engage with over 10,000 AEON members and consumers through on-ground activation at AEON Mall Shah Alam’s Concourse Area. This engagement includes special performances, family-friendly activities, exclusive merchandise giveaways, and discounted food and beverage promotions from participating brand partners. The campaign will extend to nationwide roadshows in Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Melaka, and Sarawak from June to November 2024.
